Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of ten additional residents with confirmed cases of COVID-19 within Cattaraugus County. The department's active positive COVID-19 caseload is now twenty-four as there are now one hundred and thirty-five residents who have recovered from COVID-19. 

The one hundred and fifty fourth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who traveled to a church camp in Pennsylvania. He developed cough, congestion and chest pain but denies being in direct contact with a known positive COVID-19 person. He was tested for COVID-19 on August 22nd and his test results on August 26th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and fifty fifth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person and developed fever and cough. He was tested for COVID-19 on August 25th and his test results on August 26th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and fifty sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county who denies any significant travel history. She is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person who recently developed weakness and was hospitalized. She was tested for COVID-19 on August 26th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and fifty seventh confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who traveled to a church retreat in Pennsylvania. He is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person who recently developed chest pain and difficulty swallowing. He was tested for COVID-19 on August 23rd and his test results on August 27th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and fifty eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who traveled to a church camp in Pennsylvania. She denies being in direct contact of a known positive COVID-19 person but recently developed headaches, nausea and a sore throat. She was tested for COVID-19 on August 24th and her test results on August 27th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and fifty ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a healthcare workers who denies any direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on August 24th as a requirement of all nursing home employees and her test results on August 27th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and sixtieth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person who recently developed fatigue, body aches, loss of taste, and a runny nose. She was tested for COVID-19 on August 25th and her test results on August 27th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and sixty first confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He developed fever and was tested for COVID-19 on August 25th and his test results on August 27th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and sixty second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person who reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on August 25th and her test results on August 27th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and sixty third confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person  but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on August 25th and his test results on August 27th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.

We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
