Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and seventeen as there are four hundred and seventy four residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

The six hundred and eleventh confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed cough, congestion, sore throat and headaches. He was tested for COVID-19 on November 11th and his test results on November 14th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The six hundred and twelfth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed cough. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 11th and her test results on November 14th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The six hundred and thirteenth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She was recently hospitalized for shortness of breath. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 14th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.

We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
