Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of nine additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and twenty eight as there are four hundred and sixty one residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The six hundred and second confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed cough and a sore throat and was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and third confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, chills, sore throat, headaches, and loss of taste. He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and fourth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She works at a healthcare facility and reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, congestion, runny nose, body aches, and loss of taste and loss of smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 11th and her test results on November 13th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed cough, sore throat, and loss of taste and smell. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and sixth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed congestion. He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and seventh confirmed cases is a resident who reside in the southeast quadrant of the county, who recently traveled to Florida and South Carolina. She denies being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on November 12th and her test results on November 13th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed cough, headaches and fatigue. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 14th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed cough, headaches and fatigue. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 10th and test results on November 14th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The six hundred and tenth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently develop cough, headaches and fatigue. He was tested for COVID-19 on November 9th and his test results on November 13th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
In addition, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains a minimum of 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
Disinfect commonly touched surfaces with a cleaner that is approved by the EPA against COVID-19.
