Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now sixty six as there are two hundred and twenty nine residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The three hundred and fourth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She was recently hospitalized with fever, cough, fainting and bronchitis. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 9th and her test results on October 10th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker who recently developed a sore throat. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 9th and her test results on October 10th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker who reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed, fever, congestion, shortness of breath, fatigue, headaches, and body aches. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 10th as part of the facility’s requirement to test all employees weekly, and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
