Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now thirty six as there are two hundred and fifteen residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The two hundred and fifty seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person however, she also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no muscle aches etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on October 2nd and her test results on October 5th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and fifty eighth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person however, he also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no muscle aches etc.). He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 5th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and fifty ninth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person however, he also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no muscle aches etc.). He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 5th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
