A state program that provides employment opportunities during the summertime for youth. Eligibility is based on the household income for the youth’s family must be less than 200% of poverty. Usually, the duration of the program is 6-8 weeks. In addition to the youth being exposed to work, each youth receives an educational component which includes financial literacy. For employment opportunities, the youth may be placed with a not-for-profit organization, a governmental entity or in private business.

Outreach times and locations for the 2024 Summer Youth Employment Program are set and begin on May 1st. Youth that are interested should plan on attending one of the sessions. Participants should bring: Birth Certificate; WORK PERMIT (if under 18); Social Security Card; Photo ID (if over 18). If you are under 18, please have your parent or legal guardian accompany you, if possible.

Sessions in Olean are 2:30-4:30pm. All other sessions are 2:30-5:00pm.
