Safe drinking water supplies and proper sewage disposal are of great importance to public health worldwide.  Proper construction and maintenance of these systems is the first line of defense against the spread of disease. 

In Cattaraugus County, the Environmental Health Division is responsible for enforcement of state and federal water and sewage disposal regulations as well as the monitoring of public water supplies.  We also provide information and technical assistance to residents who have concerns about their water, or sewage disposal.  Please see the links below for more information about specific program areas.
