Cattaraugus County is proud to present the new Bicentennial Memory Book which showcases the events of our 2008 Bicentennial Celebrations.

This 84 page book is full color, chock full of photography and highlights all the activities that were held during the bicentennial year.

This memory scrapbook highlights the activities planned by the Bicentennial Advisory Board as well as events planned by communities around the county. Starting with the Opening Events in Ellicottville on March 11, 2008, the book journeys through the year, depicting Lyndon’s Barbeque; Hinsdale Heritage Days; Celebrate America Festivities in Machias; Onoville Community Days at the Onoville Marina; the 2 Week Stagecoach Run & Wagon Train across the entire county; Salamanca’s Arch Dedication; the Declaration of Governor Higgins Day in Olean; the Falling Leaves Festival in Salamanca; The Bicentennial Grand Parade that was held in Salamanca; Santa Claus Lane Parade in Olean; other miscellaneous events; as well as the Closing Events held in Little Valley on March 11, 2009.

Special pages also exhibit the merchandise that was sold by the Bicentennial Committee which included a new County History Book, shirts, magnets, calendars, cook books and more. The generous sponsors of the Bicentennial are featured on their own page as well.

Finally, one page is dedicated to the Old Chautauqua Trail, the original route to our area and beyond. Committee members, Bruce and Maggie Fredrickson, designed a driving tour of the trail and a brochure was produced for use to those desiring to travel the route.

See if you can find yourself in any of the hundreds of photos in the Memory Book.
