Bridge Closure - Depot Street Town of Freedom

The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works has closed Freedom Bridge #8 located on Depot Street in the Town of Freedom.  This bridge will remain closed for approximately 4-5 weeks.  An off-site detour has been posted for vehicular traffic.

West Nile Virus Disease 2018

West Nile virus (WNV) is transmitted to humans and some animals through the bite of an infected mosquito. Persons are at greatest risk of exposure to infected mosquitoes from July through September with peak activity late July to August. There are no human vaccines or treatment for WNV. Prevention of mosquito bites is the most important way to reduce your risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

Sheriff's Office Offers Hunters' Education Class

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Bow hunters’ education class for the Bow portion only on the following dates and time: Wednesday, August 29, 2018 and Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.  The class will be held at the Hideaway Archery 12749 Cottage Road Dayton, New York.
