The Human Resources Office provides support to the County municipal government and all local public agencies as the local Civil Service agency in addition to the County of Cattaraugus as a Personnel, Labor Relations and Risk Management office.

Under New York State Civil Service Law, competitive job vacancies are filled from eligible lists established as a result of Civil Service Examinations.

The department provides oversight for Employee Benefits and Employee Relations, including Labor Management for the County Government and its collective bargaining agreements.

NOTE:  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the time it takes to administer Keyboard Specialist and Account Clerk Typist exams is taking longer than usual and significant delays are to be expected.  Current Health Department orders limit us to a total of 10 people per exam site.  Applicants will be tested in the order received.     Rest assured we will schedule exams as soon as we are able to do so within parameters established by the Health Department and NYS.
