Election Date

Polls will be open county wide on August 23, 2022. On that day, two elections will be held: a special election in the "old" 23rd Congressional District and a Republican Federal Primary in the "new" 23rd Congressional District.

  • The first Special Election is to fill the remaining few months of District 23 Congressman Tom Reed’s term. This will be open to all registered voters.
  • The other is a Republican Primary to choose the Republican candidate for the November Election, when voters will choose who represents the new district in January 2024. This ballot will only be open to Republican voters who will choose their party's nominee.
