Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of eleven additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now sixty six as there are two hundred and twenty three residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The two hundred and ninetieth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.) and was given COVID-19 test on October 5th as part of a discharge plan to an adult care facility and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety first confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He was recently admitted to a rehabilitation facility and reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID -19 on October 6th and his test results on October 9th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety second confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, chills, cough, and congestion. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 6th, and his test results on October 9th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed congestion, sinusitis and diarrhea. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 6th and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety fourth and fifth confirmed cases are male and female (husband and wife) residents who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. They developed fever, chills cough, sinusitis, diarrhea, headaches, body aches and loss of smell and taste. They were tested for COVID -19 on October 7th and their test results on October 9th indicated that they were positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety sixth confirmed case is a young female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, whose parent denies she had any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. The parent reports she developed fever, congestion, body aches and nausea. She was tested for COVID -19 on October 7th and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on October 7th and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COIVD-19 on October 5th as part of a weekly requirement of the facility for employees and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The two hundred and ninety ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COIVD-19 on October 5th as part of a weekly requirement of the facility for employees and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundredth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COIVD-19 on October 5th as part of a weekly requirement of the facility for employees and her test results on October 9th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
