Cattaraugus County is home to 27 State-certified ambulance services and 6 State-certified first response services. Just three of those 33 emergency medical services (EMS) services are paid agencies with full-time staffed stations. The remaining 30 are staffed with volunteer EMS providers, those volunteers respond to the majority of calls in the county. The paid agencies are the City of Olean Fire Department, City of Salamanca Fire Department, and Trans Am Services. All 33 emergency medical services agencies are overseen by Cattaraugus County EMS Coordinator Robert F. Kuhn.
