SOUTHERN TIER MILITARY SUPPORT GROUP

The Southern Tier Military Support Group was formed in March of 2003 on an evening at the onset of Mission Operation Iraqi Freedom, when 12 family members of the servicemen and women from all branches of the United States military went to the Olean Red Cross in hopes of finding a place to meet and support each other while their loved ones were deployed. These 12 founding members were the beginning and the formation of what is named the "Southern Tier Military Support Group" which, to this date, has grown to 80 members strong. Our mission and sole goal is to support our men and women in uniform wherever they are in the world. We offer solace, comfort, kindness and concern for the families of all who protect the freedom of those at home in the United States of America. Our group raises money to assist local inured soldiers and their immediate families, as well as assisting families who have given the greatest gift to our nation; losing a beloved family member; a serviceman or woman who has been killed in action.
