Visitation Hours: Tuesday and Friday 11:45am-3:45pm and 5pm-8pm
All visitors will be required to show photo I.D. upon EVERY visit. NO I.D...NO VISIT...NO EXCEPTIONS! Underage children not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must have a written notarized letter from such adult and a phone number where that adult may be reached.
All visitors are to legibly print their name, complete address (no box numbers), time entering the visiting room, and the inmate you are visiting. You are also required to sign the time out in which you leave. If assistance is needed ask the officer on duty.
Our visiting room is wheelchair accessible. Please notify staff at the time of your visit if you need any assistance.
Visitors shall be permitted on a first come first served basis. NO APPOINTMENTS ACCEPTED.
You must be wearing long pants to enter the visitation room. You will NOT be permitted if you are wearing shorts, capris, skirts or dresses regardless of length. No revealing tops. Shoes are required. Infants and toddlers are exempt. No hats, coats, jackets, pullovers, or hooded clothing of any kind will be allowed in visit.
ALL visitors must be able to clear the metal detector before you will be allowed in to the visitation room. Please make sure you are not wearing metal belt buckles, underwire bras, etc. all pockets should be completely empty. *all lighters, matches tobacco products, knives, keys, phones, sharp objects, camcorders, cameras, mechanical devices, etc. should be secured in the available lockers (.25 cents to use and is returned) or left in vehicle prior to check in. They are NOT allowed in the visitation room and will be considered contraband.
Cattaraugus County Jail is not responsible for any items brought in to the facility by any visitor. Lockers are provided for any personal items.
There is to be nothing of any kind in your mouth (gum, candy, cough drops, etc.). Please dispose of these items prior to check in.
Every attempt will be made to walk visitors clearly through the metal detector. Be prepared to remove shoes, belts, suspenders, etc. if necessary.
Children are NOT to be left in the public lobby, outside, or in a vehicle without a parent or guardian. If the visitation officer determines that a child is not being properly supervised while at the facility, then the visit may be terminated.
Visitors will remove all jewelry except wedding and/or engagement bands, prior to coming through the metal detector. This includes all hair accessories, and all body piercings.
Anything that can be put in an envelope and mailed (documents, pictures, letters, etc.) are NOT permitted to be sent out through visitation.
White underwear, white t-shirts (no pockets) and white socks (6 pair of each max.) are the only items that may be left for inmates at visit. Money for inmates may be deposited in the Kiosk in the visitor lobby.
JAIL PERSONNEL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DENY ANT ACCESS TO VISITATION. Reasons may include but are not limited to: suspicion of drug or alcohol use, personal hygiene, etc...
Visitation Room Rules
ANY ORDER GIVEN TO YOU BY THE VISITATION OFFICERS IN THE VISITING ROOM WILL BE OBEYED IMMEDIATELY AND WITH OUT QUESTION.
VISIT MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON, AT THE DISCRETION OF AN OFFICER.
Each inmate is allowed 2 visitors at one time. If a child is at the age that he/she can be held on a lap comfortably, that is permissible and not counted as one of the two visitors. Otherwise, the child must sit on the bench as one visitor. Children are not allowed to sit, lay, stand, or kneel on the table. All visitors’ hands must remain on the table at all times. Children are to be kept under control at all times or your visit will be terminated.
Visitors and inmates are allowed a timely hug and closed mouth kiss at the beginning and end of each visit. All inmates and visitors are expected to keep their hands down on the table at all times, and their legs and feet under themselves, on their side of the table.
Visitors and inmates will remain seated throughout the entire visit. If you wish to leave, signal for an officer and they will escort you out.
If an inmate or visitor violates ANY visitation rules then his/her visit will be terminated. The inmate will be escorted back to their assigned housing area and the visitor will be warned or barred from visitation, depending on the severity of the violation. Determination of how long the visitor shall be barred will be made by the administrator or his/her designee.
The use of loud or vulgar language or any disruptive behavior WILL NOT be tolerated in either the lobby or the visitation room. If a visitor or inmate is deemed guilty of either of the above, they will be asked to leave and their visit privileges will be restricted.
Any inmate or visitor found passing contraband will be charged criminally. IT IS THE POLICY OF THE CATTARAUGUS COUNTY JAIL TO PROSECUTE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, ANY INDIVIDUAL FOUND GUILTY OF INTRODUCING CONTRABAND IN TO THIS FACILITY.
All children regardless of age will remain on the visitor side of the table, either sitting or on the adult lap, while in the visitation room. At the beginning of each visit, the inmate is allowed to hold the infant or toddler for five minutes. No items will be brought in with the child except for a non-glass bottle, pacifier and/or burp cloth.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES COULD RESULT IN TERMINATION OF YOUR VISIT.
